If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don't. If you'd like to win, but you think you can't it's almost a cinch you won't. If you think you'll lose, you're lost.

For out in the world we find success begins with a fellow's will. It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are. You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man. Sooner or later the man who wins is the one who thinks he can.

Young man, the secret of my success is that at an early age

I discovered I was not God.

Sometimes, in our families, we try to get parents or brothers or sisters to treat us the way we want them to, to do things we want them to.

When they're upset or angry with us, we try to get them to stop, rather than allow them to be angry.

But our feelings are ours alone, and we are responsible only for how we feel.

Those around us are not the cause of our feelings. We are.

This knowledge is a big responsibility, because we know we cannot blame others for our bad moods.

But it is a fact.

And this fact is also a wonderful freedom for us, for it means that we also have the power to make ourselves happy, no matter what goes on around us.
